Then enters Adriano Rizzo.

Laurie glances at him ONE TIME outside a nightclub and this man immediately starts plotting matrimony.

Because underneath all the mafia nonsense, this is really a story about a woman who spent her entire life feeling unwanted finally finding people who chose her.
And that's where Michelle Heard always gets me.
The found family.
The acceptance.
The feeling that somebody could know all your damage and love you anyway.
That's the emotional engine behind these books.
Now did the rival mafia family plot need another 20–30 pages?
Absolutely.
The ending wraps up a little too neatly.
And Adriano remains one therapy appointment away from becoming a public safety concern.
But I laughed.
I had fun.
I may have gotten emotional.
And honestly?
That's exactly what I wanted from a Michelle Heard book.
